World Builder

This movie by Bruce Branit was awarded Best Narrative Short Film at 2007 KC Filmmakers Jubilee (but rejected by other film festivals for some reason). It was shot in a single day but the post production took about 2 years. See if you can notice anything familiar ;)



I didn't like the ending. Too sad. Hope she wakes up.

PS. It would be cool if SL had those sliders for mirror and shiny effects ;) Also, the plants tool and the texture browser :P

Flexi sculpties!

I first learned about flexi sculpties over at Ana's blog a few months ago. I was very enthusiastic about them and was waiting for their introduction since then (there is a patch on JIRA that is being worked on). A few days ago Sql told me he found a viewer that already supports flexi sculpties, so, of course, we went playing with them right away. What we noticed is that they often act weird and not as you would expect, and it seems there is still a lot of work to do before they are introduced in the regular viewer (currently they look like flexi cylinders if you are logged in with regular viewer). Nonetheless, they are fun to play with. I made a little movie out of my experiments - please excuse the rough shapes and textures of the sculpties I present here, as they were only made for testing purposes and I didn't feel like spending too much time on them ;)



So what do you think? Once flexi sculpties are introduced, we're going to have swaying plants and flowers, sculpted trees moving like the Linden trees, flexi fish' fins and birds' wings, skirts (and other clothing elements) blowing in the wind, blankets, table-cloths, curtains, hair flowing in the wind, and all the other creative things people will surely make. Imagine combining flexi sculpties together with dynamic shadows. Aah, SL is getting even more beautiful!

New release: HotCube

I just released a fun item for couples: HotCube! It's a multi-player social game for adults. It spices things up in the bedroom and let people get to know each other better. It's great for couples but can also be played by a group of friends for fun (it can be a large group, eg. in a club). The game consists of 300 questions and guarantees hours of fun.

How to play:
  • Players join the game by clicking the heart floating above the cube.
  • Players have to stay within 10 metres of the game or they will be logged out.
  • One of the players clicks the cube.
  • The game says a random question and designates a player who has to answer it (players are designated in the order they were logged in).
  • The chosen player answers the question (chat or voice) and clicks the cube to display a question for next player. And that's how it goes.
Example questions:
  • What turns you on the most?
  • Do you enjoy being nude?
  • Would you rather have sex in the morning or in the evening?
  • What would you do if you wanted to spice up your sex life?
  • What is your most sensitive body part?
Features:
  • Players can join and leave the game any time (by clicking the floating heart), without interrupting the game play.
  • Players can get a notecard with game rules by saying '/9 hc rules'.
  • The owner can reset the game by saying '/9 hc reset'. After the reset, the players have to log in again.
  • The game will time out and reset after 15 minutes of inactivity during gameplay.
  • When the game is reset or the question pool is used up, the game will generate the question pool again and randomize it (differently each time).
  • The game never gives the same question twice until it is reset or the question pool is used up.
  • You may adjust the game rules to your needs if you want. For instance, you can decide on an action someone has to take if he/she doesn't want to answer, eg. take off one piece of clothing :)

Sh-sh-shape ;)

A few days ago my friend Linka IMed me with a nice surprise message: she named one of her shapes after me. How cool :) Ayumi shape is girly and sweet, and it totally rocks. She looks innocent, but there is something seductive about her.
